Dulk painted “Where the Forest Sings” on a brick wall in Cincinnati for BLINK 2026. The mural is at 116 Findlay Street in Over-the-Rhine, near Findlay Market. Its woodland scene gives the festival a work that remains on the street after its October 8–11 programme has ended.
The artist describes a small melody stirring the forest to life: woodland creatures awaken as autumn turns the landscape gold. For Dulk, the scene is a celebration of life and harmony in the natural world. The title makes song the starting point for the action, rather than simply naming the place the creatures inhabit.
Making that scene on brick was demanding. Dulk says he used brushes and rollers on the textured wall, a surface that made the painting a challenge. The account of the work is unusually specific about that physical effort: the autumn woodland had to be built across the uneven face of a city building, not a smooth canvas.
